Orindale is generally a peaceful place, hidden behind the Jun Mountains and great forests to the North and South, it is a common stop for merchants, traders, and adventurers along the route from Galador to the Blood Lands. The town of Orindale is the center for trade in the region, where the dwarven clans of Kremkiln and Ironheart come to acquire wood and other goods in exchange for strong metal and genuine dwarven craftsmanship. The elves of the Kornass forest protect the dales' borders to the North, while the secretive, but powerful Elves of the Pine, to the South, guard against the evil that lies below their lands.

The Great Rift divides the Jun Mountain range into two distinct parts. It is close to impossible to cross the rift through the valley without crossing over the bridge that spans the chasm. Each end of the Rift is guarded with watchtowers, ever wary of the evil that lies beyond the mountain range. The Forest of the Dead and the Troll Marshes fester with abominations spawned from the infamous Morden the Mad, whose Castle Crag still stands to this day, awaiting his return to the Dale.

Beyond the rift, lies Gilan, a small mining village, producing coal, copper, and iron from the mountains. The small community is very vulnerable, and relies on protection from the Dalefolk and the nearby dwarves of Clan Ironheart. The great city of Soloarium, to the South, is a continual place of uncertainty. Here, the laws that govern the provincal lands surrounding the city change as often as its' rulers. Although it is a place of wealth and trade, it is a hotbed for the likes of those who would rob the Dale of its peaceful serenity.
