Child of Gaea Poems and RiddlesAquilar's Current Date: For fun, I thought it would be nice to share some of the poems and riddles from the book. There aren't many and I do not claim to be a poet of any skill, but they are cryptic and fun. These writings are from the book itself and are Copyright © 2006 by the author, Jeff Ehrmann. From Chapter 13: Riddle on a painting inside the druids temple of Coriandor"When darkness falls across all lands, And blood runs black through withering hands, Trees will die and mountains crumble, And ocean tides make nations humble, Out of time itself will come one who is pure, To bring thee hope and find the cure, Look not to the sea nor fire for air, But look to the mountains, under rock laid bare, For in this shall ye find that which ye seek, Thy destiny lies in the hands of the meek. From Chapter 16: Riddle to the secret location of Mienas Elai When the light of the sun has waned and Mara announces her presence you will find it, for it is not for the eyes of all to see. The water of life consumes it and the strength of the earth surrounds it. Air passes into it, but cannot escape and fire is used to see through it. It is here that you will find peace and tranquility for Mienas Elai is sacred to me and you must never reveal its’ secret until the time has come for another to take my place. From Chapter 16: Riddle to the Everwood "In the mountains deep where secrets lie hidden, Is a valley low, whose trees are forbidden, Into the Everwood and through its heart, Are dangers many, who will never depart, From the tops of the trees and into the ground, The souls of her children and evil abounds, For through this wood you must go, To find the secret of soft moons glow, Weary travelers; beware glow of red, Or join forever the living dead."
