Aquilar's Current Date:

Multi-Profession Characters:

Characters may choose to 'multi-class' or have multiple professions for their characters, which means that they may operate as two or more professions at the same time. Common examples of combinations are:

  • Warrior/Sorcerer
  • Sorcerer/Rogue
  • Warrior/Advocate
  • Warrior/Bard

The only restriction to this rule involves the three restricted classes, which are: Champion, Druid, or Monk. These classes are dedicated individuals who must maintain a strict philosophy or lifestyle to gain their abilities. They may not multi-class, but they may retire from their profession and start a new one, a practice commonly referred to as 'dual-classing' in AD&D(R) terminology.

Any race may have multiple professions up to a maximum of three. Experienced players will know which combinations will suite their needs for a character and which classes compliment others. It is recommended that beginning players who wish to multi-class start off with only two until they become more familiar with the system.

When multi-classing, the following rules apply to how players handle their characters skills and abilities:

  • Character Points awarded for advancement are unaffected. Players may choose any available skills or special abilities that are available to their character

Dual-Profession Characters:

A character may at any time, retire his character of his chosen profession and begin a new career in another profession. This is the only way a Champion, Druid, or Monk may utilize an additional class.
