Because of the worlds' troubled past, many societies have formed various guilds and organizations to help protect against their way of life or their beliefs, for there is safety in numbers. Some of these organizations are aligned with the forces of good, some with evil, but the most important reasons dwell in the face of an ever-changing political landscape. A powerful guild can wield tremendous influence on the local lords and ladies of the land, especially if they are popular with the commoners.
